We’ll look for seeds and berries that feed animals through the winter\, for scat\, and for birds\, insects\, and signs of other animals. SUMMARY:Seeing the Invisible: An Augmented Reality Contemporary Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Seeing the Invisible is the most ambitious and expansive exhibition to date of contemporary artworks created with augmented reality (AR). Developed by The Jerusalem Botanical Gardens in partnership with Outset Contemporary Art Fund as a joint venture among botanic gardens around the world\, the exhibition spans six countries and features works by more than a dozen international artists\, including Ai Weiwei\, Refik Anadol\, El Anatsui\, Isaac Julien CBE RA and Mohammed Kazem. \nVisitors are invited to actively locate the artworks scattered throughout the Wildflower Center\, using a smartphone or tablet. The AR nature of the exhibition allows for the creation of immersive works that engage with existing features of the natural landscape. By setting these digital experiences inside botanic gardens like ours\, Seeing the Invisible addresses themes of sustainability and explores the connections between art\, technology\, and nature. \nSeeing the Invisible opens at the Wildflower Center on March 4\, 2023. DESCRIPTION:Get involved with Public Citizen as they convene at the Texas State Capitol March 23rd. \nThe Texas House Committee on Environmental Regulation will hold a hearing on the TCEQ Sunset Bill (HB 1505). The bill proposes reforms to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)\, the state’s main environmental regulatory agency.  \nThe TCEQ Sunset Bill is the culmination of over a year-long process known as the ‘Sunset Review\,’ the state’s process for evaluating its agencies about every 12 years. A report generated by the state as part of this review labeled the TCEQ a “reluctant regulator” for its ineffectiveness in holding polluters accountable. The current version of the TCEQ Sunset Bill includes favorable provisions such as extending maximum daily fines for polluters and modest improvements to the agency’s engagement and communication with the public. \nFor questions contact jmedina@citizen.org.
