SUMMARY:Drive-Through Baby Shower
DESCRIPTION:Over the coming months\, Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation will rescue and care for thousands of baby wild animals. All of these infants will require around-the-clock care in order to save their lives and return them to the wild. Many have suffered injuries after falling from their nest or being caught by a dog or cat. Each of these little ones knows all too well the trauma of life lived as an orphan. \nHere at WRR\, we do everything in our power to help these babies regain strength and stamina and to learn the skills needed for life in the wild. Your participation in our Drive-Through Baby Shower is vital to the care of wild baby animals who need our help. At this modified event\, you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with WRR Staff Members in a fast-paced and socially distanced manner. Our Staff will wear masks to keep everyone safe. We ask that you wear a mask and remain in your car. We hope you can join us on Saturday\, February 20\, for this new WRR experience.

SUMMARY:Conserving the Edwards Plateau: Land\, Water\, and Development
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to watch our TREAD Talk on the history of water in Texas with Char Miller. The talk was hosted by Jessica Karlsruher\, Executive Director of TREAD\, and Annalisa Peace\, Executive Director of Greater Edwards Aquifer Alliance (GEAA). We discuss how water in Texas has been handled\, is currently managed\, and ultimately how these practices can impact water use in the future. \nTREAD and GEAA are joined by Char Miller\, W.M. Keck Professor of Environmental Analysis and History at Pomona College in this talk. Char Miller’s teaching and research reflect his fascination with all things environmental. Classes on U.S. environmental history\, water in the U.S. West\, and public lands management\, like those on urbanization and the interplay between the natural and built landscapes\, have deeply informed his dozens of publications and several books. Join us in learning from Professor Miller in this discussion. \nYou can enjoy the conversation through this Youtube link.
