SUMMARY:Marine Debris Surveys and Nurdle Patrols with Galveston Bay Foundation
DESCRIPTION:Collect valuable data while also cleaning the shoreline! Volunteers are given information and tools from the Galveston Bay Foundation\, to then self-deploy at their leisure along an accessible Galveston Bay shoreline of their choice. Data collected is submitted to the Galveston Bay Foundation electronically. We encourage all volunteers to follow Covid-19 health and safety practices when doing these survey and cleanup activities. \nDate and time: at your leisure/your choice! \nLocation: any shoreline along the Galveston Bay body of water that you are familiar with \nContact: To get started\, contact Nick Ellis at nellis@galvbay.org and let him know that you are interested in doing a marine debris survey or nurdle patrol.

DESCRIPTION:Join Save Barton Creek Association and our friends at Living Springs\, as we take a walk through time and discover the history of advocacy that saved Barton Creek! Hear from Barton Creek Time Stream creators Karen Kocher and Monica Flores\, and folks that were there when it all happened. We will finish with a Q and A. \nTens of thousands of visitors have enjoyed the nearly 14-mile Barton Creek Greenbelt in Austin\, Texas\, but few know the tumultuous history behind its creation and preservation. The Barton Creek Time Stream exhibit shares these stories of 50+ years\, featuring 40+ events and profiles 80+ individuals who worked to establish and preserve this unique green space for the people of Austin. \nThe Barton Creek Time Stream exhibit is a project of the Living Springs documentary series in collaboration with the Save Barton Creek Association and City of Austin’s Splash! exhibit at the Beverly S. Sheffield Education Center.
