EarthShare of Texas has hired Jennifer Denton to join our staff as the Campaign and Events Coordinator. Her role will include spearheading the planning of upcoming corporate events and a fundraiser in 2022 to celebrate EarthShare of Texas’s 30th anniversary.
Jennifer is a Texas native and has previously worked for Austin Resource Recovery as a Community Engagement Consultant where she led the charge on customer education of curbside composting, recycling, and other services; managed education contracts for environmental and recycling/composting education, and oversaw the Zero Waste Block Leader Program, a network of more than 300 zero-waste advocates working to educate their friends and neighbors on behalf of the department. She has also worked for Austin’s Planning and Zoning Department, focusing on the City’s Comprehensive Plan, “Imagine Austin.”
Prior to working for the city, Jennifer worked at the nonprofit Front Steps as a Community Relations & Volunteer Coordinator, where she expanded a comprehensive volunteer program, facilitated staff and volunteer training, and worked with area agencies and community members to engage individuals in the issues and solutions to homelessness in Austin.
Jennifer has earned a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Spanish, and a Master’s in Public Administration from Sul Ross State University.
EarthShare of Texas opened this new position to take the next step in reaching goals outlined in the 2020 strategic plan, namely to “Diversify and Deepen Funding Sources.”
We are excited to welcome Jennifer to our team, learn from her wealth of experience in nonprofits, planning community events centered around environmental action, and serving her community’s best interests, and watch her grow programs that benefit the growing network of Texas-based environmental nonprofits that we serve.
