Location: Arrowwood Preserve
What to expect: Expect to receive a short orientation and planting instructions from experienced volunteers and staff. You will walk on a natural surface trail into the preserve, where you will be installing small plants (3-gallon size or smaller) in the open understory of a wooded wetland area. Some holes will be pre-dug, but there may be planting locations that require some digging for planting. You will be working in small groups and being assisted by experienced volunteers and staff.
Required Supplies: Water (at least 48 oz), close-toed shoes or mud boots, long-sleeve shirt, long pants, and gloves.
Recommended Supplies: A bag to carry your belongings, snacks, insect repellent and sun protection. You may want to leave extra shoes and a plastic bag in your car for changing out of muddy shoes before leaving.
Important Location Information: Please note that there are NO restrooms or water on site. If you need to use the restroom during the planting event, you will need to leave the preserve to do so. The nearest restrooms are a short, 3-minute drive to a convenience store south of the Preserve off 249.
*NO restrooms or water on site.*
