Guided Walk: Winter Birds on the Barton Creek Greenbelt with Save Texas Streams

January 31 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am

Meet us at mile zero of the Barton Creek Greenbelt at 8:30 am, January 31st for a beginner-friendly bird walk. We will have a couple of binoculars to borrow, but you are encouraged to bring your own. I will go over some binocular fundamentals before walking and stopping along the trail to listen to and see some birds. Expect to hike for 1.5 miles and some of that might be in the dry creek bed.

You will learn about the winter crew of birds that are seasonally here and the residents who are here year-around.

The walk will be led by Save Texas Streams’ Board Vice President and Capital Area Master Naturalist, Andrew Harrod. Andrew graduated with a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries, has led many bird walks at McKinney Falls State Park, and helps out with annual winter bird censuses that take place locally.
