Sunset Hike at Government Canyon SNA – Sierra Club Local Chapter

Partake in the Sierra Club, Alamo Chapter’s Sunset Hike at Government Canyon SNA! We’ll meet at the visitor center pavilion next to the park store – Don’t forget your headlamp or flashlight!

The fee is $6 if you do not have a State Parks Pass

This is a MODERATELY paced Hike (around 3miles/hr) for about 5 miles on the Recharge and Bluff Spurs Trail. YOU are responsible for assessing your own fitness level and to have an exit plan if you cannot keep up with the group – This is NOT a beginner hike, there is some rough and sometimes slippery terrain.

Open to ages 13 and over; minors must be accompanied by an adult. 

Dress appropriately for conditions. Wear sturdy shoes for hiking over rough terrain; bring at least two liters of water. Subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. Please check the morning of the event for updates.

*No pets are allowed at Government Canyon on the trails we will be on.
