EarthShare of Texas is testing partnerships with sustainability-conscious local businesses to raise funds for 38 Texas-based environmental and conservation nonprofits.
Austin, TX – EarthShare of Texas launched a sustainable holiday shopping program pilot for the 2020 holiday season to raise funds for 38 environmental and conservation nonprofits across Texas. Antheplife, an Austin-based handmade apparel brand is the first to participate in the program and will donate 10% of its holiday profits to EarthShare of Texas.
The sustainable holiday shopping pilot aims to test if Texans will choose sustainability-conscious businesses that support the local environment with donations to Texas environmental nonprofits. After the 2020 holiday season, EarthShare of Texas will review the campaign’s impact to consider growing the program in 2021.
Francoise Van Keuren, Executive Director of EarthShare of Texas, commented “As a Texan, I know what it means to be Texas proud. With this program we hope to give shoppers an easy way to support Texas businesses and support local environmental organizations in a meaningful way. If all goes well, we would like to curate a robust shopping guide of partners with sustainability at the core of their business.”
EarthShare of Texas is the leading environmental nonprofit federation in Texas and has traditionally relied on workplace giving programs to raise funds. This pilot is a way to diversify revenue streams as the need for environmental action increases. Antheplife is a handmade apparel brand based in Austin, Texas with products made from natural and sustainable resources and processes. The pilot will run until January 31, 2020.
