EarthShare Texas wrapped up it’s second #MyEarthMyTexas challenge on Earth Day and we want to give a big thanks to our generous sponsors: H-E-B, Reliant, an NRG Company, and Balcones Resources.
What is #MyEarthMyTexas?
#MyEarthMyTexas is an Instagram challenge where participants post about their sustainable lifestyle, connection to nature, or any other way they celebrate the Earth. Kicking off April 1, the challenge goes until Earth Day, April 22.
This campaign is intended to show the growing support for environmentalism in Texas and serves as a fundraiser for the EarthShare Texas federation of Texas-based environmental nonprofits who benefit from donations received throughout the campaign.
Who Sponsored #MyEarthMyTexas?
This year, #MyEarthMyTexas was sponsored by three companies: H-E-B, Reliant, and Balcones Resources.
If you live near an H-E-B, you likely already know this grocery chain to be an outstanding leader in helping the community. In addition to being our largest #MyEarthMyTexas sponsor, they also host a month-long tearpad campaign where customers of H-E-B and Central Market can add a small donation to their purchase at checkout. “Here at H-E-B, we believe that if we work together today, we can create a better tomorrow. Together, we’re conserving natural resources, protecting Texas wildlife, and responsibly managing product and food waste while being better neighbors.”
Reliant is a Houston-based energy company, recognized for its outstanding customer service and Reliant Gives program that supports numerous causes. Since 2011, EarthShare Texas has been the beneficiary of the Reliant EcoShareSM Program which has raised more than $2 million dollars for Texas-based environmental charities.
Finally, Balcones Resources is a comprehensive environmental services company specialized in recovering resources through recycling, document and product destruction, and alternative energy.
