EarthShare of Texas is currently accepting applications from Texas-based environmental and conservation nonprofits to join our membership. As a nonprofit member, organizations are given unrestricted funds raised primarily through partnerships between EarthShare of Texas, private businesses, and public institutions. By opening membership, we hope to increase the diversity of people, areas served, and environmental causes our federation impacts as a whole.
EarthShare of Texas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit federation dedicated to raising funds for environmental and conservation charities across Texas. Our membership is annually vetted to ensure funds are going to exemplary organizations making a true impact on our environment. Of course, this strengthens our donors’ confidence that their funds are making a difference, but it also gives us the privilege of asking for unrestricted funds for our members as we can trust that each charity in our federation is well-suited to determine how to best put funds to use.
In addition to quarterly disbursement of unrestricted funds, EarthShare of Texas members enjoy benefits such as:
- Easy participation in workplace giving campaigns
- Collaboration opportunities within the EarthShare of Texas network
- Marketing support to amplify the collective voice of our federation
- Donations from new and existing corporate partners
Corporate partnerships are a big part of EarthShare of Texas’ 2020 strategic plan. We currently have ongoing funding relationships with Reliant Energy and H-E-B and are building our portfolio of short and long-term relationships with more companies that are eager to support a better Texas environment. As an EarthShare of Texas member, your organization will benefit from our growing list of partnerships.
To join, a charity must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, be governed by a volunteer board of directors, and clearly work towards conserving natural resources or building a healthy and sustainable environment for Texans. Applications are due August 31, 2020, and reviewed by our EarthShare of Texas staff, the Participating Organization Committee, and finally voted on by the Membership Council in January 2021.
